The Marketing Manager will develop go-to-market strategies and oversee the marketing programme to maximise sales opportunities across our range of products and services including books and publications, our house magazine and accompanying digital media channel, business services, and professional events on topics from inspirational building design to sustainable architecture and business management.

Responsibilities
You will lead a programme of product marketing activity, utilising the full marketing mix and 360° campaign approach, to raise awareness and generate sales of our products and services. You will be supported by a Marketing Executive.
Your product portfolio includes:
- Publishing – inspirational and informative books written by leading architects and industry figures
- RIBAJ – our magazine and owned digital media channel – increasing readership of our content and driving attendance at our events, webinars, video courses and reader competitions
- Business services that help architects run successful practices – recruiting the best talent using our job board, a range of business solutions from pensions to consultancy services, and digital tools for project management
- Client consultancy service – opportunities for architects to win large-scale project commissions
- Sales and sponsorship – supporting a lead generation pipeline
- Venue hire of our Grade II* listed building at 66 Portland Place, London, working in partnership with a specialist venue agency
Responsibilities:
- Develop product marketing strategies and plans, set campaign objectives, monitor KPIs and manage marketing budgets
- Create effective product propositions, messages and write compelling copy to appeal to customers utilising existing and new channels
- Report and advise on marketing activity and outcomes using measurement tools including Google Analytics, making recommendations for change and improvement. Campaign objectives may include product sales, increasing engagement, driving event and course registrations and lead generation for sales teams to ensure targets are met
- Oversee the tactical delivery of the marketing programme, working closely with your Marketing Executive, product owners, internal teams (including digital marketing, content, communications, sales) and stakeholders across the organisation. You will also work with external suppliers and agencies (including design, print, PR and digital advertising (PPC and paid social media)
Job Requirements
We seek an experienced and enthusiastic product marketer with considerable creative flair and demonstrable experience of developing marketing campaigns utilising the full marketing mix.
You should have:
- Significant experience in product marketing with an excellent understanding of marketing concepts and best practice
- Thorough knowledge of marketing, campaign planning and tactical delivery techniques
- Significant experience of traditional and digital marketing, including, direct mail, email, social media, digital/print advertising, websites and digital platforms and event marketing
- Experience of managing budgets, people, projects and influencing senior stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills, be highly accurate and comfortable working under pressure to meet deadlines and deliver against KPIs and targets
- Confidence to communicate your ideas and be able to work both independently and collaboratively
- Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills and attention to detail
Experience working in publishing, business services or in a membership organisation, with product owners, sales teams, sponsors and advertisers would be advantageous. A business/marketing qualification is desirable.
